Pfaff select is a line of sewing machines from the Germany sewing machine company Pfaff. Pfaff has been around for practically as long as sewing machines have been around. For over 140 years, Pfaff has been in business, helping sewers sew. The Pfaff Select Line is just part of their ongoing innovation to make sewing more enjoyable and easy as possible for both professional sewers and hobbyists alike.
Pfaff offers a variety of machines that are available for all sorts of sewers, quilters, embroiderers and other crafts people. Their sewing machines are probably the most renowned, of which the Pfaff Select Line are probably one of the best selling. But Pfaff also carries Pfaff embroidery machines for those who are focused on the art and craft of embroidery. And for those of you who do a lot of hemming, edging or seaming Pfaff has a complete line of overlock machines that will create the smart, tight hems you need. The nice thing about Pfaff overlock machines is that they are usually combined with sergers so you don’t need to worry about cutting.
There is also a Pfaff punching machine as well as Pfaff quilting machines. But if you’re here reading this, you’re probably wondering about the Pfaff select line of which there are currently 3 models, though I only want to talk about the popular 2. The Pfaff select 3.0 and the Pfaff select 4.0. Both of these machines have the Pfaff select known as the Easy Select System which is basically one button access to a wider variety of stitches. Both of the Pfaff select offer IDT which basically ensure even stitching on both sides of the fabric as this technology feeds the fabric from both top and bottom for consistent stitching and no crumpling. It works well on both thin fabrics like silk and thicker fabrics like quilts.
The Pfaff select 4.0 offers a few extra features like 40 different stitches and some nice accessories. Included are the Darning Foot, the Rolled Hem Foot and the Fancy Stitch Foot for additional sewing abilities. The Pfaff select line is a great choice for the most discerning home sewer. For around 6 to 7 hundred dollars you can purchase a new Pfaff select 4.0. Not a bad price for a reliable and esteemed brand that offers such capabilities. If you’re looking for something a little different, then please try out the Pfaff Creative Vision, kind of like your grandmother’s Pfaff 260, but better!
